Compliance

At Literacy Phoenix, we are committed to protecting the privacy and rights of our students and, where applicable, their parents or guardians, in full accordance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and the Protection of Pupil Rights Amendment (PPRA).

Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)

Literacy Phoenix ensures the confidentiality of all education records and protects the rights of adult learners to access and amend their records, as provided under FERPA. No personally identifiable information from education records will be disclosed without the written consent of the learner, unless such disclosure is authorized by law. Literacy Phoenix maintains secure record-keeping systems and provides all students with timely notification of their rights under FERPA.

For students under the age of 18 enrolled in the Adult Education services with Literacy Phoenix, parents or legal guardians retain these rights. Literacy Phoenix ensures that parents of eligible minor students have access to their child’s educational records and may exercise all FERPA-related rights on behalf of their child.
