Protection of Pupil Rights Amendment (PPRA)

Literacy Phoenix protects the student privacy by adhering to the federal law of Protection of Pupil Rights Amendment (PPRA) to protect the rights of students and their parents about surveys, the  collection of information, and certain types of evaluations conducted in schools by obtaining student consent, or parental consent for minors, before students are required to participate in surveys that reveal sensitive information, such as political beliefs, mental or psychological problems, sexual behavior or attitudes, illegal behavior, religious practices, or income (unless required by law).

Literacy Phoenix gives students and parents of minors the right to review any instructional materials or surveys before they are administered and to opt their children out of certain data collection activities.
